What we know today as Web Directory, is a directory on the internet specialized in linking to a lot of web sites, and assigning different categories and sub categories to each one of them.

Even if it�s sometimes hard to find what we are looking for going into all the different categories in a one on one basis, there are many Web Directories that include a Search Engine on the top o sidebar menu. This makes things a lot easier for those visitors that don�t exactly know what to look in the Directory.

The best thing about Web Directories is that, instead of finding unwanted content in your search results, you have editors constantly checking the pages to be certain that not a single one of them go against their policies. So you can be relaxed of surfing the web without the worry, and the risk as a parent, of your children getting to see accidentally some pop up window with explicit content.

Also, and not less important, if you�re a Webmaster, you�ll want to have your site listed in lots of Web Directories. That�s because if the directory has a good Page Rank all the mayor search engines will index you fast and even get you higher on Search Results Pages. It will be a good way to get your public to know you, to read your content and not having a phantom web site.
